Nosestalgia

This is a game concept loosely based on the science of taste.

This is a creepy survival puzzle game. The idea is that you have amnesia and are in a dark hallway that constantly changes as you leave and enter rooms. There is a darkness lurking in the halls and if it consumes you, the game will be reset.

You need to eat and wear certain items to progress, each of them corresponding to memories. Some good, some bad. Hunger can make you lose sanity and this will also impact how you perceive the environment. The less sane, the more “sketchy” and “rough” the style you see (show in the mockup below). Lack of sanity also impacts the actions available. You could eat inedible objects (like the flashlight) or when insane, yourself.

Users must pay attention to key hints given by the characters’ reactions, mannerisms, memories, and the environment to survive.

I hope to develop this idea further and fully branch out all of the paths and how the items and food interact with the character and in turn, how that impacts the story and the paths you can take.
